The PICAXE Editor Software is a free download, as is the complete PICAXE Manual.

The PICAXE-08 Proto Board is an electronic kit and requires assembly (~20 min. for a beginner, 5 min. for an expert). A soldering iron, solder and flush cutters (available separately) are required.
