The Crydom D2W203F Solid State Relay is a simple way to activate AC loads. Use a DC input from 3-32VDC to control an AC output up to 240AC, to a maximum of 3 Amps.
The Crydom D2W203F solid-state relay (SSR) is the preferred relay of choice by the engineers at EFX-Tek to be used with their RC-4 relay controller board. The hugest positive about using solid state relays is that they have no mechanical parts and therefore are less prone to spontaneous failure. Mechanical relays are subject to stuck and/or dirty contacts and seem to fail earlier than solid state. At a max current of 3A this relay adds real *oomph* to your project! Perfect for turning on and off lamps, alarm clock, etc. with your Arduino, Freeduino or other microcontroller without the need for additional circuitry.
Important Note: This relay is only designed to switch AC loads, it uses the collapsing AC signal to actually turn itself off. When used with DC loads the relay output can't actually go open (turn off) once the input is activated.
