Description
The Electric Imp was one of the first easy-to-use modules ideal for creating an “IoT” device. Packaged in a compact and tidy SD-card package (no, it’s not actually a SD-card), it is pretty darn easy to design a slot into your project to add a modular and convenient WiFi connectivity.
This is just the development board, so you’ll need to buy the Imp separately!
Electric Imp Breakout Features:
- Mini-USB connector for easy power connectivity (USB does not transfer data)
- Exposes CryptAuthEE IC pin
- 0.1 pitch breakout lines
- Optional battery input lines and optional power select jumper
- 500mA 3.3V step-down power converter
Note: If you want to use the mini-USB or battery inputs for power, you will need to populate the 3-pin jumper and set it to either ‘BAT’ or ‘USB’. Otherwise, you can just simply power the board using VIN and GND without the use of a jumper.
