DESCRIPTION

The Precision Light Sensor by Phidgets measures human perceptible light level in lux; its measurement range is from 1 lux (Moonlight) to 1000 lux (TV studio lighting). Each sensor has been individually calibrated, and a label has been applied to the back of the board with a calibration value which can be used in your calculations to increase measurement accuracy. The analog value outputted is 1:1 with the lux value, meaning that whatever digital value you read on from the analog-to-digital converter line on your microcontroller is the value that the lux reading is.

Some light sensors report drastically different values depending on the type of light being detected. The Precision light sensor, however, only differs by a factor of 1.2 when measuring fluorescent light versus incandescent.

Comes packaged with a 60cm sensor cable.

This sensor connects to an Analog Input on the PhidgetInterfaceKit 8/8/8 or a 3pin break out shields for Arduino development boards.

Product Features:

  • Measures up to 1000 lux
  • Measures both incandescent and fluorescent light
  • Individually calibrated for maximum accuracy
  • Connects to any device with an Analog Input.
