We've added new products to our website! Here's a quick look!

ESP-01 Programmer / Adapter Module

Programming an ESP0-01 (or any other ESP8266 variant) can be a bit of a button-toggling dance even after you get it wired up correctly. This handy little module makes it so much easier, by making completely buttonless and comes with a usb connector as well! Plug in your ESP-01 and use the standard ESP toolchain to do the programming. Just flip the switch to "prog" and start the programming procedure.

You'll definitely want one of these if you've ever had to breadboard a quicky-programmer adapter for these more than once!

Specifications:

  • 4.5-5.5VDC power input
  • 300mA working current
  • 5V USB-TTL compatible (3.3V Logic Level)
  • Selectable switch between serial and programming mode

Solar Pendulum of DOOOM blogged on MAKE

I love MAKE magazine. I always enjoy reading (then trying) the projects in each magazine. I was a bit disappointed in their last issue where they didn't cover the complete process to make gunpowder, but that's a minor complaint. I just noticed on their blog that they're talking about our Solar Pendulum kit and Christopher […]

Strange set of Atmel '328 ICs...

Unlike Sparkfun, who actually manage to find fake Atmel ICs, we just get strange batches. The Atmel ATMega328 is the power behind the Arduino/Freeduino/*duino, and we have to set up a programming system to burn the venerable Arduino Bootloader into these chips. We normally use an AVR STK500 in HVSP (high voltage serial programming) mode, […]

Arduino & LoL Shield Pong, New Prod...

Have we all had our fill of Maple syrup and/or fireworks? With Canada Day and Independence Day behind us, we can get on with our regularly scheduled "look at all the new stuff we've brought in" programming. Truth be told, today is actually the start of the Calgary Stampede. Apparently, that's a pretty big deal […]

Sumovore Captures 1st at NAIT

From the BEAM mailing list, we're happy to report that Tom Gray managed to win 1st at the NAIT robotics challenge in Edmonton!: "Thanks again to all who endured my wails and made helpful suggestions earlier this year when I couldn't get my BS2 brained Sumovore to run. " "Grant M. of Solarbotics finally traced […]
