Here's something to take a boo at a workshop by Tom Mair and a Grade-5 class. From his message to the BEAM mailing list:
Last year I helped Mrs. Corbett's Grade 5 class build robots and we had a blast (see a review here http://www.aasland.com/hcrd.html). Well, this year we are doing it again. We're building SYMETS with 10 year olds ..lots-o-fun ! The web page (in-progress) is already up at http://www.mairs.org/hcrd2k2.html . BEAM as part of thesis work
Rory Nugent (of Solar Xylophone fame) has posted his thesis presentation to the Interactive Telecommunications Program, which heavily features BEAM devices. By "building things with a sense of life", he's documenting what we've known for a good while - autonomous devices ("pets") offer unusual interesting relationships. Keep up the good work!
