Here's something to take a boo at a workshop by Tom Mair and a Grade-5 class. From his message to the BEAM mailing list:
Last year I helped Mrs. Corbett's Grade 5 class build robots and we had a blast (see a review here http://www.aasland.com/hcrd.html). Well, this year we are doing it again. We're building SYMETS with 10 year olds ..lots-o-fun ! The web page (in-progress) is already up at http://www.mairs.org/hcrd2k2.html . Closed July 1st for Canada Day
On Tuesday July 1st 2014 we are closed for Canada Day. We will return to our regular phone calls answering and shipping next day on Wednesday. Happy 147th birthday, Canada.
BEP Application: Turbot
The Turbot is a member of the Scophthalmidae family of flatfish and is almost completely circular. Turbot is often found partially buried in the seabed in sand, gravel, rocks and sediment. Its fat content varies, but it usually contains roughly 1 gram of omega-3 fatty acids per 100g fillet. Barring advances in genetic engineering, we will not be building that kind of Turbot. However, this kind of Turbot can be built with a soldering iron.
