We love SparkFun. Great group of people. Excellent products. It's just that they're... well... twisted and cruel.
You see their RoboJoust event? We didn't take them serious when they said it was to be performed 4' off a concrete floor. But here's the proof. They're actually building the table that high off the ground.
Next thing you know, they'll be wanting a minimum construction material content of 60% lego blocks. And "flame-retardant construction materials"...
(Looks like fun. Wish we could come play too!)

Interesting Mini-sumo build
This mini-sumo design by Jeremy Bloyd-Peshkin features our wheels, and one of our favourite building materials, Sintra. We can't laser-cut sintra (PVC=bad stuff when burned), but milling it works well, as this builder shows. The asymmetric motor layout works, as proven by this contest-winning design (scroll to the bottom of the page).
BEP Application: Pummer
The following instructions detail how to build a simple pummer using a BC2 (Bicore) BEP (Bicore Experimenter PCB). A pummer is a solar powered self activating LED flasher. The difference between a pummer and a BLFNAR (blinky light for no apparent reason) is that a pummer has a soft turn off, which means that it turns on fast, but slowly fades away.
