Solarbotics Christmas Hours

Ho Ho Ho! The 25th is fast approaching and we thought what better way to celebrate the season then with our families! (No, not the robotic ones, our real-living-breathing-warm- blooded ones!)

Solarbotics will officially be closed from December 23 to December 27, 2005. We will be back in the office for December 28 when we will work off the Christmas Turkey and process all orders accumulated over the holidays. On the 29th and the 30th we will be working like mad to get inventory done. Therefore only courier orders (1-2 business day delivery service) will be processed on December 29 & 30. If you have an order which is an emergency or you really would like it shipped on those days, call our toll free line (1-866-276-2687) and someone will help you. For everyone else we thank you for your patience and understanding as we count hundreds upon thousands of itty bitty electronic pieces!

Solarbotics will also be closed on January 2nd in lieu of New Year's Day but it will be business as usual for January 3rd, 2006.

Wishing you all a warm and bright Holiday Season and a New Year filled with robots!

SCC3733 Solarcell hacking

Here's a tip submitted by Rick Steenblik regarding hacking our SCC3733 for less voltage, but more current: After using your SCC3733 solar cells for a couple of bots I noticed that they can be altered to provide about 3.3v at 80ma (in full sun) by cutting the bus connector on the back to electrically separate […]

Tech Tip: Micro Terminal Blocks

We use many, many devices with 0.1" spaced holes, which are pretty much an electronics design standard. We're finding these 0.1" space terminal blocks incredibly useful for making solid, secure, yet serviceable connections to the rest of our designs. We'll often reach for a microcontroller board, then reach for a necessary handful of these parts […]
