Some of you may have found the LightStorm Pummers that Mark Tilden has made using some neat looking plastics. We've built our own variation of the circuit, which is a dark-activated, quad-bicore pseudo-random chaos generated, dual pummer circuit.
Here at Solarbotics, we like to eat well. So, unfortunately after leaving a forgotten sausage roll in the microwave for several days we must search for a means of disposal and/or obvious prank to pull. Our immediate reaction was to place the rather stale pastry in the mouth of our office chimp, Herb. But now the question begs, where to next? We toyed with idea of placing it back in the freezer, to be taken and again reheated by an unsuspecting subject. However, it seems a superior option to hand it off to one of our customers...
So here it is, a LIMITED TIME OFFER! Here's your chance to get your hands on the sausage roll (complete with greasy napkin!) of Dave Hrynkiw, BEAM expert, Solarbotics President, and food lover. Until end of day Monday (April 3rd), send a monetary offer to sales@solarbotics.com to be entered in a silent auction bid.
The highest bid received by email will also be notified by email of their victory and payment/shipping will be arranged accordingly.
LATE BREAKING UPDATE: Unfortunately, due to recent anti bio-terrorism movements we will not be able to actually ship said delicacy extraordinaire (or Herb!!). But don't fret! It may seem like an insignificant compensation, but we'll send a K TB Turbot to ease the pain.
(On a side note, all proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society for cancer research and the winner of the silent auction will actually be awarded one K TB Turbot kit)

As Panasonic is no longer manufacturing their line of Sunceram solar cells, we've been on the hunt for suitable replacements. Here's our first find - the SCC3733! It's a polycrystaline cell in an epoxy casing, so it's a bit heavier, but much, much less prone to breaking or burning off of the solder-pads. It's also […]
Aaaand this is a quick note to remind everyone that the Solar Marble Machine is now fully available for purchase from our website. Enjoy!
Hey, how about that! We've got some new gear motors to complement the popular Mini Metal Gear Motors (the GM11a, GM12a, GM13a, GM14a, GM18 and yes, even the mutant GM19). What's particularly new is that they have sealed cylindrical gearboxes! Same sort of gearing, but no funky rectangular shape - just a nice, sleek, clean […]
