Jerome, our squiggly-bearded intern from many moons ago that created the BeetleBot, just pointed us towards this totally pimpin' pinewood derby car. The author from sliptonic.com shows how he made his sweet lowrider with hydaulic(esque) action by using a small micro-servo for each wheel, an Ardweeny for brains, and a 9V battery for power. The final effect is pretty amusing. Surely, the face of pinewood derby racing has been irreversibly changed forever. And for the better, we might add.

New GM11-14 mounting screws
BOY those are strange little screws on the face of the GM11-14 series of gear motors! 1.7mm diameter x 0.35mm thread pitch ain't a common bolt, but we found some 4mm long that we've made available for those of you looking for a precision method of mounting the motors. Check out part M1.7x0.35!
Robothon Success!
Congrats out to Grant, for bringing his "Ender's Wraith" to first place in the advanced mini-sumo category at last weekend's Seattle Robothon. We also picked up an award for "Most Unusual Robot" with our Turbot prototypes! Additional to that, a Solarbotics Sumovore ("Oops" by Kristina Miles) won the amateur mini-sumo category!
