This 224:1 gearmotor is very comparable to a hobby servo for power, at a fraction of the cost!

Description [Hide]

Solarbotics is the sole commercial outlet for these impressive 224:1 gearmotors, which are very comparable to hobby servos for power, at a fraction of the cost!

This model differs from the GM2 in that it has a 90 degree output shaft.

Mechanical Features

  • 7mm output shaft with double-flat outputs
  • Secondary output shaft (D) for encoders (not meant for rotational loads)
  • Built-in safety ratchet clutch set for 60 in*oz torque (easily modified for full "locked-up" operation)
  • Built in mounting holes
  • 70.1x22.3x37.7mm (2.76x0.878x1.48")
  • 30.5 grams (1.08oz)
  • 3-6VDC nominal operation

3V Features

  • 24RPM
  • 48.6 in*oz torque
  • 40mA free-running current
  • 400mA stall current

Based on the original design by Mark Tilden for use in the B.I.O.Bugs & RoboSapien, these motors are the next generation with a variety of improvements such as dual output shafts and a lower current motor.

Do you need to mount something to the shaft of the motor? Try the GMW - it's a very effective platform for a variety uses. Alternatively, you'll also find that a #2x1/4" SMS screw will provide a snug fit for your need.

Motors are sold individually, wheels are not included.
