The original PICAXE-18M2 was a great advancement, but the IC now offers even more capability in its traditional low-cost / small size package.
What's improved with the 18M2+ vs the 18M2? Check it out:
|RAM (total bytes)||256||512 (2X more!)|
|Data EEPROM (bytes)||256 (shared)||256 (but separate memory)|
|4||8 (2X more!)|
(kbin, kbled functions)
(rfin, rfout functions)
Internal Temperature Sensor
|Firmware versions||2.A ~ 2.D||D.A|
This chip still supports up to 16 inputs/outputs with 10 analog/touch sensor channels, but now with additional features. Be aware that to use the new 18M2+, you must upgrade your software to at least these versions:
Programming Editor 5.4.3
And as it is just an enhanced version of the standard M2 series, it still features such as configurable i/o pins, parallel tasks, ring tone music and touch sensor inputs. Please see the PICAXE M2 Information Sheet for further details on the PICAXE M2 parts.
The PICAXE-18M2+ microcontroller can be used with any software application that supports the PICAXE hardware, including the easy to use flowcharting software Logicator for PICAXE and the free PICAXE Programming Editor.
The PICAXE-18M2+ replaces the older PICAXE-18, 18A, 18M and 18X chips.
