Thumb buttons, thumb buttons, we have thumb buttons! These buttons are a nice macro size, but small and low-profile enough to plug into a prototyping PCB or breadboard. Their fast action is awesome for DIY buttons pads.
*Click*
Ah, nothing like the nice, solid feedback of a big button.
These buttons give you a nice, reassuring click every time it's pressed so you know that you've definitely activated it. Their almost instant return make them great for building your own homemade gamepad D-pad or button pad. They also make a good reset switch or user feedback for a microcontroller circuit.
Technical note: We recommend wiring these up with the button contact and signal line tied together and pulled up to Vcc through a 10kOhm resistor (or internal pullup) on one side and the other side connected to Ground. Remember these switches aren't perfect (very few switches are) so don't forget to take switch bounce into account with a software or hardware debounce routine/circuit.
