It's pretty amazing to see the adoption rate of 3D printers in the last few years, and the kind of creativity they bring out in people. I've seen quite a few variations, particularly while walking through the 3D printer villages at the MakerFaires I've already attended (either as a vendor or just a visitor), but the one that's stood out for me is the kit currently being offered on Kickstarter by our friends at OpenBeam, the Kossel Pro:
I've always found delta robots to be particularly interesting, given the speed and accuracy they can move at (plus they're just cool to watch!) It's definitely worth taking a look if you're in the market for a 3D printer, especially since it'll be made available using stamped/injected molded parts for a higher degree of accuracy & tolerance than what you might find with laser cut or 3D printer parts/brackets. We can't wait for ours!

Time to feel awesome and optimistic and bubbly about the upcoming year full of possibilities. That's okay though, they just need to be injected with a […]
Not just another *uino clone, as this uses a 32-bit Atmel AT91SAM7X ARM microcontroller. Sure, it uses the same form factor (well, except for the breadboard-friendly mini version), but the Netduino uses the .NET micro framework. What's that mean? Well, you're using a hugely more capable microcontroller (8-bit vs 32 bit), with much more memory […]
