So, as usual, we have some new product Friday goodness, but first we have a few questions for you to answer.
Do you live in, around, or near Vancouver? Do you like weird and fantastical projects? Do you consider yourself a DIY type of person? Do you own a Space Armadillo named Norm, that you can ride around the rings of Saturn?
If you answered 'yes' to some of those questions (except for the last one, because let's face it, you have far more awesome things to be doing than to keep reading this news post), then you should go and check out the Vancouver Mini Maker Faire that's taking place next weekend on June 23rd and 24th. Solarbotics will be in attendance as well, and it looks like we'll be showing off some of our standard bots, some new gadgets, and running a small Arduino/ARDX workshop. So if you're in the area, swing on by to say hello. We promise you won't be disappointed - last year's show was spectacular, and this one looks like it'll be even better.
Now, on with the show!
ATtiny85V $2.41 Yay! It's a low voltage version of the ATtiny85 that also offers 8kB of flash. |
|
PICAXE-08M2 IC (Surface Mount) $3.95 The surface mount version of our smallest, but prominent, PICAXE microcontroller. Very popular in education due to its low cost and small size, but also popular in a wide range of hobbyist projects. Small but perfectly formed! |
|
2-pin JST-PH Connector (2.0 mm Pitch) $0.95 Here is a 2-pin, 2mm pitch JST connector which is commonly used throughout the hobby industry, use it where a connector is missing or needed to mate to female connection. |
|
2oz Weatherproof Diffused Plastic Jar w/ Cap $1.95 It's a jar! Well it's not just any jar, it's a weatherproof diffused plastic jar to enclose your outdoor LED projects |
|
100x68x50mm Weatherproof Enclosure $5.50 This enclosure is a tough, waterproof design which is great for all kinds of outdoor electronics projects! |
And that about sums it all up. Have a good weekend everyone. Hopefully the rush-hour traffic will be kind to you. Unless, of course, you happen to have Norm on hand. In which case, you probably won't have a care in the world.

Hey, look at us! We made a witty, over-used joke! But seriously, this week we have a schwack-load of resistors for you. Normally we save most of these for our internal use, but what's so fun about that? So we've gone ahead and opened up our entire inventory of 5% accuracy, 1/4 watt resistors. There […]
Solarbotics just attended the MakeFashion Gala here in Calgary. It was a glowing show of glowing lights and wearable technology. Check out the photos in our Flickr stream. Photo courtesy George Dimitrov Photography Among all the other wonderful things we've seen using our string LEDs before, there was nothing quite as intense as these outfits. […]
Guess what! Like every year, from May 19-20 Solarbotics is going to be at the Bay Area Maker Faire! Well, kinda. While we usually run a full booth to show off all our cool BEAM and Arduino stuff (we even ran a totally rockin' ARDX workshop last time), it unfortunately looks like costs have risen […]
