In my recent wanderings in the world of overly-cheerful financial advise, I stumbled upon this budgeting theory that says that to feel comfortable about your moneys, or lack thereof, you gotta be living on your last month's earnings. Let's leave out the question of how anyone would pull it off, and just say that I applied this theory to writing these product posts, so there's a bit of a buffer in case we don't have the time to create something on short notice. So what you're reading right now is, shall we say... Last month's money. MWAHAHA! I wrote it a week ago and, well, here it is… But the product is brand spankin' new. I swear. (In a hypnotizing voice) You beliiiieeeeve meeeeee. But don’t you fall asleep just yet, there's lots of cool stuff:

2.1mm Male/Female Power Adapter jack set
$3.50
It's a pain to solder up barrel jacks and plugs, so these screw-terminal based versions are very popular for repurposing DC power supplies to other applications!

Serial OLED Module (16x2)
$25.50
OLEDs are simply the next step up in display technology. Sure, a regular LCD may work, but you should use OLEDs when you need a much brighter display, much better viewing angle and lower current consumption!
Serial OLED Module (20x4)
$50.99

Instant Robot Shield
$23.45
The ‘Instant Robot Shield’ is designed to enable you to rapidly create a robot based upon a PICAXE Shield Base or Arduino microcontroller. Simply push the shield onto your controller, connect your motors, sensors and servos and you can have a working robot within just a few minutes!

Financial wisdom aside, however you try to relieve yourself from the pressure and need to come up with stuff on the fly, knowing how to improvise is always a good skill to have. And although we try to pad our way to avoid the unexpected (read - surprises), it still comes up (kinda like this product post?!). Aaaand now let's plan what we'll talk about next time…

Solarbotics Raspberry Pi 3 SAFE Assembly...

The instructions for assembling the Pi v3 and the previous acrylic Pi SAFE are quite similar. The only difference between the models is the location of the LED light pipes, so these Pi3 instructions apply generally to all Pi SAFE versions. 1. Your Parts! 8 x 4-40 nuts 8 x 4-40 x 3/8" bolts 2 […]

PDXBot 04 video - it's good!

Ok people, the sales on the PDXBot 04 DVD have been less-than-stellar. I brought them in primarily because I thought other people wanted to see robot competitions that you may not otherwise get to see. Also, a portion of the proceeds go to help the PARTS club in Portland Oregon. If you have a robo-geek […]
