Monday is Canadian Thanksgiving up here in the Great White North, so we'll not be open October 14. Business as usual on the 15th!
I wasn't very interested when the new Hakko FX-888 soldering iron showed up, but as I opened it and explored more, I got to thinking "Dang - this is a nice iron...".
It's small, heavy, made-o'-metal, and of Hakko quality. And it's better than the old 936 it replaces, in practically every regard. And it uses the same tips! Check it out - it's a nice iron. We've been carrying Hakko goods for a long time, and this unit keeps up the tradition of great quality.
We've also been playing a bit with our pick and place equipment and adapted the very cool Jimmie Roger's LoLShield (we carry the green and red kits) to a SMD add-on board. We're working toward making these in several colors. Stay tuned!
