As some of you know, ActiveTech is changing locations and merging operations with Solarbotics. The retail store is going to take the space where the former RnD lab was, and we've been working hard to prepare that area for the move-in.
Here are some pictures of transforming the lab into retail space. First, all of the internal walls needed to be torn down:
Goodbye cozy offices:
Demolition is fun:
All the electrical hanging out:
Then we repainted the walls with a nice grey.
Start bringing in product shelves. It is going to be Asian-store-style, top-to-bottom-crammed-with-product tight!
More pegboard shelving:
The mezzanine behind the lab has also been rearranged from random storage space - to product storage space.
Stay tuned for more updates on the move - we should be fully relocated by May 1st, and check out the moving sale that is currently going on at ActiveTech.

Need another way to mount your GM2/3/8/9 gear motors? Their built-in holes are nice, but sometimes, you have to really clamp it down in a different way. Welcome the GMB28 (for GM2/GM8) and GMB39 (for GM3/GM9)! We now have our own custom-made laser-cut steel mounts that clamp and bolt your motor down securely and easily!
Well, we've got a limited supply of GM5(b) escap gear motors available. These really sold quick last time, so get them while you can! See you at the Western Canadian Robot Games tomorrow!
We're happy to announce that the 2001 Los Alamos BEAM Robotics Workshop is going ahead this May 3 to 6th! After much delay and threats of budget-cuts, funding has finally been secured. Thanks to Joe Vigal and Paul Argo of the Los Alamos National Laboratories for keeping this great event alive for this final year! […]
