More Tidbits!

Well, it's once again that fantasmical time where we recap all the neat stuff we've been up to over the last week. There's nothing massively huge to announce today, but there are a few odds and ends...

St Patrick's Day Lantern SkinIt's March, and St. Patrick's day is almost among us. For those of you who like to celebrate anything green, Irish-related or just like an excuse to go for a pint, we have just what you need to dress up your HexPummer for the occasion: St. Patrick's Day lantern skin! You can get the addon right here.

We've been doing a bit more organizing of our categories this week. You'll now find that we have a Servo category (so that they aren't mixed in with those zany gear motors) and a Batteries & Power category. The items in the Rechargable Batteries category were feeling a bit lonely, so we changed the name and added all of the battery holders (formerly in the 'Misc' category) and power adapters (from Breadboarding). Now you can get all your electricity-type needs in one handy dandy spot.

We just got a big ol' shipment of PICAXE goods in this week, so all of our items are available and ready to purchase. Keep an eye out for new PICAXE bundles in the coming week.

We also got oodles of Sintra in. "What exactly," you ask, "is this "Sintra" shinanigans to which you refer?" "Well," I say, "It's this really neat material that's easily cuttable, takes glues and screws pretty well, and can be bent/formed once it's been heated up." "But what is it good for?" "Well, they come in 8x11 inch sheets in 2mm, 3mm or 6mm thicknesses and are available in a few different colours." "Annnd...?" "Oh, they're GREAT for robot platforms or other projects where you need an easy-to-work-with material." "Ah."

"Did you just have a hypothetical conversation with yourself?" "Who, ME? Never! I have no idea what you're talking about!"

You see, Solarbotics sent a few of our robots to the University of Northern Idaho's mail-in minisumo contest, and again he's served our own tuckus back […]
