Ok, we were fed up with the strange pinouts on the L298 motor driver, and decided to do something about it.
The result is the Solarbotics L298 Compact Motor Driver. It happens to be the same size as a BEP tile, offers four status LEDs, plugs for easy wiring, and screw terminals for motor and battery connections. Did we mention it also has an accessible 5V regulator on-board? Oh yes, it does indeed!
We also specifically designed the CMD kit to let the L298 IC sit flush at the back of the board, so it's easy to bolt it to a heatsink for better thermal sinking.
We hope you like the Compact Motor Driver kit as much as we do - it's been quite helpful in our in-house prototype robot projects!
