It's USUALLY good to be Canadian...

...especially since we have great skiing, universal healthcare, and excellent chocolate (Smarties over M&Ms any day).

Unfortunately, one of those excellent things ISN'T the Canadian dollar. With the dollar trading around $0.80 USD over the last few months, we're having to adjust our Canadian pricing. Effective immediately, our Canadian customers will be seeing a suitable increase in our prices that brings our pricing back in line with the exchange rate.

We regret having to do this, but we do purchase most of our inventory in US funds, and base our pricing on US funds. When the USD and CAD went par, we were gladly made our prices the same, but alas, times change.

But do remember - when you buy from Solarbotics in Canada, you won't be surprised with the additional exchange penalty on your credit card, nor will you be hit with surprise customs & clearance charges. All things considered, our Canadian customers will be still getting a fair deal on hacking supplies!

Fortunately, our crack IT squad has patched up […]

Circuit: Herbie by Randy Sargent

Although not a true BEAM robot, this simple schematic by Randy Sargent is small, simple, slick, and effective. My own version uses a pair of pager motors and three cells from a 9V rechargeable battery. Hard to get any simpler than this device!
