Ok, ok - we've been getting requests (no; more like demands) that we offer a bit of a deal for getting the GM15's in pairs.

The Atmel ATMega8L is part of our Sumovore Atmel Brainboard, and it's simply a really solid microcontroller with an excellent (free) open-source C++ programming environment. Of course, you won't see us running a solaroller with one of these, but this microcontroller is finding uses at Solarbotics.

Cool project
Neil Sandstrom from the BEAM mailing list recently posted a notice about his "ShokHead" circuit built from our tutorial. Although not a true BEAM robot, this simple schematic by Randy Sargent is small, simple, slick, and effective. My own version uses a pair of pager motors and three cells from a 9V rechargeable battery. Hard to get any simpler than this device!
