We like to have some play time at Solarbotics, and the "Bare Bones Photovore" is the results of one of these play sessions. It's a very simple (amongst the simplest, we'll hazard to say) light-seeking solar-powered robot, and find it easy to build using the Bicore Experimenter's PCB.

Grant has taken some time to document how to turn a standard 81:1 GM10 pager gear motor and turn it into a 9:1 version. Why would you want to do that? You tell me - I'd love to know what project you build with a speed demon like that!

Victoria Day Holiday
Monday May 24 is Victoria Day in Canada. We'll be using the old Queen's Birthday as an excuse to twiddle our toes in the grass and watch robots roam free. We'll be back to work Tuesday morning, bright and early!
Sumovore 3rd Place at PDXBot!
Just browsing through the results of the last PDXBot in Portland (if you ever get the chance, check it out - it's a quality gig). Anyways, I noticed that the Sumovore "Enterprise" entered by "Azalia Middle School comander" won 3rd place in the Amateur class! Well done!
