Geek Engineers wanted

With the departure of our two interns, we're finding that we miss them. Damn them and their desire to complete their education...

Since they left, we're finding we have too many projects and not enough hands to get them done. Got  some/any of the following qualifications?

  • Practical experience with sensors
  • Experience with 8-bit embedded computing (AVR, PIC 12/16F series).
  • PCB CAD experience (we use Altium Summer '09)
  • Robot-building skills
  • Grok open-source hardware, MAKE and Arduino
  • Live in/near Calgary, Alberta Canada?

You have to have some practical bench skills. I.e.: Can you program a "hello world" LED blinker onto a 12F675 at our workbench?

The author from sliptonic.com shows how he made his sweet lowrider with hydaulic(esque) action by using a small micro-servo for each wheel, an Ardweeny for brains, and a 9V battery for power. The […]

SSK Head to SW2 instructions / schematic...

Still slogging through the backlog of "things to add to the website". One of them is the ScoutWalker/SunSeeker interface instructions, in PDF format (as per usual). So if you want to see exactly how we get the head "talking" to the body, and what the exact circuitry is, come take a look! We also are […]

New Product Friday: Cowboy Touchscreens,...

It's once again Friday, and you know what that means - new stuff! And, on this particular Friday in Calgary "Cowboyland" Alberta, it's the start of the 100th Calgary Stampede. This is a pretty big deal, or so we hear, judging from the rampant "yee-haws" that are shouted into the July air with surprising frequency […]
