Monday February 17 is Family Day in Alberta (where we are), and President's day in the USA. So we're going to be out playing in the snow today. See you tomorrow!
Today we have two superstars - the Kossel Pro 3D Printer and the SketchBoard. Both are relatively new add-ons to the Solarbotics website.
Initially created as a Kickstarter project and designed around the OpenBeam aluminum extrusion system, Kossel Pro is now available for purchase. It comes with a spool of 1.75mm PLA filament (random color) and a laser cut spool holder, as well as free shipping to Canada & the US. Scroll below to see some of the new specialty filament too.
The Solarbotics Sketchboard is a open-and-use device just like the Arduino Uno, but manufactured by Solarbotics and incorporating the additional features of the Freeduino.
The Solarbotics SketchBoard $22.00 A fully assembled surface mount Arduino-compatible. |

So apparently Monday here in Albertaland is "Heritage Day". Which, quite frankly, sounds rather uninspiring. Don't get me wrong - any excuse for a statutory holiday is a good one. But the name seems rather vague and underwhelming. And thus I began my quest to find the true meaning of Heritage Day. So as any […]
This is Gareth Branwyn's latest book on robotics. Why should you care? Well, our own Dave Hrynkiw (dat be me) was honoured with the task of tech-editting it. It's a fun read, with some BEAM and not-so-BEAM projects, so if you're a raw newbie to robotics, this belongs on your bookshelf next to "Junkbots, Bugbots […]
We've been busy gathering new BEAM products, and now with the release of the new website engine, we're able to finally post them! New: CP.047F - 0.047F 5.5V capacitors CP10F - 10F 1.6V capacitors (return of an old favourite!) MCM2 - a new metal cassette mechanism with very cool parts VPM - a tiny disk […]
