We've had some requests on exactly what do the pushpins do. So, we added videos for two of them. Push Pin 1 (Masher Point) Push Pin 3 (Chisel Point)
New today is the Grove series from SeeedStudio. What makes Grove different is that is very modular, making quick-prototyping quite rapid. Usually this is an expensive feature. The rule of thumb is "Price, Speed, Quality - pick any two", but Seeed has made the 3 curves match just right. Not only are they a good value, they're well built and really do make prototyping quite quick.
Each of the modules serves one function and plugs into the Arduino-compatible Base Shield (Raspberry Pi shield on the way!) to make prototyping and testing your ideas super easy. We are adding more to the category soon. Here are the first three items:
Grove Base Shield $14.95 The Grove Base Shield is an amazingly easy way to connect your Arduino to sensors, displays, and actuators. |
|
Grove - I2C Color Sensor $24.90 I2C Color Sensor based on the TCS3414CS. |
|
Grove - LED Strip Driver (mono and RGB) $12.40 Use Grove to simplify your project, and in this case, to add LED strip lights. Drives both mono-colour and RGB styles, up to 3A per channel. |

We're back from the Open Source Hardware Summit and the Maker Faire! Did lots; learned lots; got lots of touristy things done too. One of the main highlights was meeting and listening to talks by three of the principle members of the Arduino team. They took pity on English-speakers, and named the new revision the […]
What's worse than having to wait nine months? Having to wait a year and nine months. That's where we're finding ourselves, with Beakerhead here in Calgary aiming to land in September of 2013. Luckily, though, this festival of art fused with technology (think MakerFaire) will have a few smaller events between now and then. We […]
