After 5 years of employment with Solarbotics Ltd., Grant McKee has submitted his letter of resignation to Solarbotics, effective August 16th 2005.
Mr. McKee has been an invaluable resource at Solarbotics, but is off to hunker down and gather resources before making the leap to further advance his education. Although he will be greatly missed, we applaude his decision to broaden his academic horizons. He's got a brilliant mind, and will go far in any field that attracts his attention.
This brings us to the next obvious step: Finding a suitable candidate to replace Grant at Solarbotics. We are now open to receiving resumes from interested candidates who want to assume his position at Solarbotics. Do you know of somebody you think who'd like this job? Forward them the link!
The position is for Chief of Research and Development, offering access to a relatively complete suite of tools and equipment to carry out experiments, build prototypes and design robots as needed, including a Sherline CNC mill and lathe. You're not expected to know it all, as we encourage learning and doing!
Please send your resume, link to your design portfolio (or similar) and salary expectations to

Since they left, we're finding we have too many projects and not enough hands to get them done. Got some/any of the following qualifications? Practical experience with sensors Experience with 8-bit embedded computing […]
We're big fans of "Scientific American Frontiers" around here. We were quite surprised to trip over this link of a program called "Games Machines Play". Well worth a view, if you can spare better part of an hour!
I can't imagine why, but some people want to use these push pogo pins for other uses than robot appendages. Or battery contacts. Apparently they're really good for something called "JTAG applications" too, but I'll leave that up to you to decide. Scroll down to see them listed in the "New Items" column.
