Not sure what holiday it is, but my calendar says that nobody will be in on Monday "for the holiday". We'll be back to work Tuesday morning, promise!
Alriiiight. This week we've got a small handful of new plastic pinions (not to be confused with plastic onions) from Didel. These little units are great for sliding onto pager motors and mating to other gears.
And, as promised last week, we've got more Arduino-type-stuff for you to check out. These week we've populated the LilyPad category with eight items. As worded by the official description, "LilyPad is a wearable technology developed by Leah Buechley and cooperatively designed by Leah and SparkFun. Each LilyPad was creatively designed to have large connecting pads to allow them to be sewn into clothing. Various input, output, power, and sensor boards are available. They're even washable!". Neat stuff! Check out our selection below:
Well, that about sums it up for another week. I'd just like to take this opportunity on behalf of all the staff at Solarbotics to bid farewell to Mary. She's been a fantastic getter-of-things-done (official title: Office Elf, Third Class (Promotion Pending)) and a joy to work with. We wish her all the best with that education/school thing that seems to be all the rage with kids these days. Good luck Mary, you'll be missed!

Adam Conus sent us a nice little message about his antweight combat robot The Fly.: Western Allied Robotics is kicking off another year of antweight combat events and I need new motors. (Because I'm very, very hard on them!) Still, they're cheap and light. Check out- http://home.comcast.net/~conusa/adam.htm to see the robot complete with solarbotics sticker!
The Turbot is a member of the Scophthalmidae family of flatfish and is almost completely circular. Turbot is often found partially buried in the seabed in sand, gravel, rocks and sediment. Its fat content varies, but it usually contains roughly 1 gram of omega-3 fatty acids per 100g fillet. Barring advances in genetic engineering, we will not be building that kind of Turbot. However, this kind of Turbot can be built with a soldering iron.
We've managed to dig up enough parts to get six ScoutWalker III's together in time for Christmas. We'll have them ready by the end of the week for shipping, so if you don't mind waiting for your order to go until then, feel free to pre-order now!
