Closed on Monday August 6th

That's it. We've had enough. The weather is just too darn nice outside. So nice, in fact, that we quit. That's right, when Monday rolls around no one is even going to bother coming into the office. You heard us - we'll be closed on Monday, August the 6th. Go ahead and email and leave phone messages and place orders. We won't even be here. We'll be out there, where it's nice and sunny and warm. Bam. That's it. We're done. No more Solarbotics.

...

Wait, what's that? You say that August the 6th is "Heritage Day"? Which happens to be a provincial holiday, no less? Uh, okay. In that case, we'll probably get our warm and sunny outdoor fix in the form of a long weekend. That's probably enough time off that we'll feel like un-quitting, so I guess we'll even be back to work on Tuesday. Have a good long temporary-quitting weekend, everyone!

Cool project

Neil Sandstrom from the BEAM mailing list recently posted a notice about his "ShokHead" circuit built from our tutorial. What makes this project a bit different is that he mounted it on a VPM motor, so it's all self-contained. Here's what he says about it: Just finished!!! Check it out it is really small!! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/beam/files/Psyclesam/ […]

HexPummer Lanterns!

Our K HP HexPummer has always been a good, steady kit, but once we got our laser-cutter, we started experimenting... and was it ever neat to tuck one of these into a faux Japanese-style lantern! After upgrading two of the four LEDs with super-crazy-mega-bright LEDs, this solar-powered night-activated light show is quite a cool decoration, […]
