Active Tech Mail-Out and COVID-19 Polici...

Hey Everyone,

Sometimes the stars align and everything goes right... however, this was not the case for our recent sales flyer. Despite our best efforts to cancel/delay/time travel, it was sent out to the local Calgary area today. While we are still honoring the sale (with an extension until April 12th while supplies last), we highly recommend that customers phone-in their order! We will process and pack your order for pickup at the door to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19. If you would like your items shipped within the Calgary area, we are offering a $10.00 flat rate with some exclusions applied for large or heavy items like 3D printers. Credit card and e-transfer are the payment options available over the phone.

To promote social distancing we encourage all customers to use shipping or order pick-up!

Please call us at 1-866-276-2687 or locally 1-403-232-6268.

We are still allowing guests to browse our store-front but we ask you to please review and adhere to the following:

  • Warning: Our store is compact, and it is difficult to maintain the desired 1 to 2M “social interaction spacing” as recommended.
  • We frequently sanitize our work surfaces and wash our hands but please only touch what is required to make your purchase.
  • If you have fever, cough or difficulty breathing, do not enter. Follow the COVID-19 health guidelines, get yourself home, isolate yourself, and phone-in your order for mail delivery (or we’ll ask for your Mama’s phone number, and then tell on you).
  • We are limiting the number of customers in-store based on our staffing and 1/2 maximum occupancy.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during these difficult times and we will continue to do our best to assist with combating the spread of COVID-19.

Sincerely,

The Solarbotics-Active Tech Team.

Technology Grad Dresses

As the President of a local technology-hacking company, and having been involved with more than a handful of technology dresses & costumes in the Calgary area, she thought it would be a good […]

Netduino!

Not just another *uino clone, as this uses a 32-bit Atmel AT91SAM7X ARM microcontroller. Sure, it uses the same form factor (well, except for the breadboard-friendly mini version), but the Netduino uses the .NET micro framework. What's that mean? Well, you're using a hugely more capable microcontroller (8-bit vs 32 bit), with much more memory […]

Review a Beetlebot, Other Tidbits

Whelp, it's just been one of those weeks.  When the Calgary Stampede gets into full swing, things get a bit crazy. Fireworks, pancake breakfasts and BBQ lunches, cowboy hats, questionable choice in music ("We got both kinds - country AND western!"), and all-around crazy people. So it's fairly safe to say that we don't have […]
