BlinkM, LilyPad, SparkFun

A SparkFun PCB, three BlinkM LEDs, three LilyPads and a PICAXE USB Programmer walk into a bar. The bartender looks up and asks, "What is this, a newspost?" The answer to that question would be YES! Chekkit oot:BlinkM Smart LED

Those are all pretty neat in their own way, but the BlinkM units deserve some special attention. They consist of three LEDs (RGB), that combine to make a wide array of colours. We've used them in a variety of projects so far (did see us at Maker Faire? We were using these guys in our lamp posts), and the results are absolutely fantastic. They're so fantastic that we even made a quick little video for it:

Good news! We just got in a big ol' shipment of Getting Started with Arduino, so not only is the book back online but all of our Arduino Bundles are now available! Huzzah!

And that does it for another week at Solarbotics. Remember, you filthy bilge rats: Tomorrow, September 19th, is Talk Like a Pirate Day, so don't forget to let out your inner scurvy sea dog!

Close, it's the 10m lengths of LED strings that come in different colour variations, including an RGB one, which makes things […]

Closed for Easter Weekend, Special Deal

We're coming up on that magical time of year when rabbits tend to poop chocolate eggs. Which, quite frankly, makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Couple that with April 1st, where the object is to mess with people, and this sure makes for a bizarre month. But hey - when a strange, chocolaty rodent is enough […]

Solarbotics looking for fun people

...oh, and they also should want to work with us. We have a few positions open we want to fill with people that have a good sense of humour, have some geek qualities, and can tell the difference between a diode and resistor (or sincerely want to learn!) Here are the types of people we're […]
