That's right, it may be the end of summer and it's rapidly getting colder and darker but WE'VE GOT A NEW SOLAR CELL! It's a pretty small unit too, great for compact projects. Like powering a certain red LED to light-up a transparent breadboard. Ok, that might be pushing it. And yet a lit up breadboard sure would look sexy...

Cool project

Neil Sandstrom from the BEAM mailing list recently posted a notice about his "ShokHead" circuit built from our tutorial. What makes this project a bit different is that he mounted it on a VPM motor, so it's all self-contained. Here's what he says about it: Just finished!!! Make Something Useless Useful Update

We've been trying to Make Something Useless Useful since 2012. In order to do that we've been donating a percentage of past sales of the Useless Box to Plan Canada. In year 2013 $5,000 went to Plan Canada' Gift of Hope School Construction in Honduras.

New Pogo Push Probes in stock

I can't imagine why, but some people want to use these push pogo pins for other uses than robot appendages. Or battery contacts. Apparently they're really good for something called "JTAG applications" too, but I'll leave that up to you to decide. Scroll down to see them listed in the "New Items" column.
