Arduino Extravaganza

Hm, now there's something that'd be difficult to say five times fast. You should've seen me try to type it - it was atrocious.  But I digress - we have a big announcement to make. We've decided to bring our entire catalogue of Arduino/Freeduino products to Solarbotics. This covers the Boards Themselves, Parts Bundles, Shields, LilyPad, and Arduino Parts. While most of these categories are pretty bare (heck, there's nothing in Lilypad or Shields at the moment), we'll be constantly adding inventory to the site over the next few weeks. Right now you'll find that Microcontroller Boards is pretty full. Here's what we've just added:

Wow, that's a lot of stuff! And it's not all, either. The Freeduino Bundles we mentioned last week were such a hit that we've gone ahead and made two more. These ones are very similar, but feature the Arduino Duemalinove instead of our own Freeduino SB. You can get it in either the Basic Bundle or Ultimate Bundle. You can also check out the new Arduino/Freeduino Starter Bundles category, where we might bring more such bundles in the future. Are there any particular items you'd like to see us carry? Let us know!

"Wow", you must be thinking, "I wish I could be as awesome as those mighty-fine Solarbotics folks!" Well, now you can! We've just put up a Job section, where (lo and behold) we have two positions to fill. If you're located in or near Calgary, Alberta and want to join the crew, take a look and send off your resume. Better act quick, though!

And that pretty much wraps things up for another week. Remember to drop in again - we'll have another handful of Arduino items to show off in the next weekly post.

Freeduino, Freeduino, Freeduino!

The whole 'duino thing is just so much to say, we've got to do it three times. Blame Jerome, our intern... We've got Freeduino version 2.2 back from the assembly line today, and all tests out beeeautifully! New features include an SMD-mounted 16MHz crystal, better power-consumption circuit routing (for battery-operated projects), and "hacking pads" for […]

University BEAM Projects

The University of of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has been running a BEAM-style mechatronics program (GE100) for the last few years. The purpose of the class is to build a self-powered device that can propel itself over both smooth and rough terrain, using a pair of servos and a BEAM-style servo-controller circuit (similar in function to […]

More Tidbits!

Well, it's once again that fantasmical time where we recap all the neat stuff we've been up to over the last week. There's nothing massively huge to announce today, but there are a few odds and ends... It's March, and St. Patrick's day is almost among us. For those of you who like to celebrate […]

Wednesday Cool Links: Spiderbot, Solar S...

It's Wednesday! Hooray! Huzzah! We're celebrating because... Well, ok, we have nothing big to celebrate right now. So we're going to celebrate having nothing to celebrate with the traditional and only appropriate way possible... BROWSING THE INTERNET! Indeed, we've been celebrating this time-honoured tradition with steadfast dedication, and it's our pleasure to share it with […]
