This is Gareth Branwyn's latest book on robotics. Why should you care? Well, our own Dave Hrynkiw (dat be me) was honoured with the task of tech-editting it.
It's a fun read, with some BEAM and not-so-BEAM projects, so if you're a raw newbie to robotics, this belongs on your bookshelf next to "Junkbots, Bugbots and Bots on Wheels" and "Getting Started in Robotics".

BEP Application: Pummer
The following instructions detail how to build a simple pummer using a BC2 (Bicore) BEP (Bicore Experimenter PCB). A pummer is a solar powered self activating LED flasher. The difference between a pummer and a BLFNAR (blinky light for no apparent reason) is that a pummer has a soft turn off, which means that it turns on fast, but slowly fades away.
