DESCRIPTION
Alright - we can all agree the K1 series is pretty darn good since their introduction, but like any technology, there's always room for some improvement. In this case, the upgrades of the K1 to the K1C are small, but substantial!
The essential differences are:
- Name:K1C, for "Carbon". Meaning it's more apt to successfully print difficult filaments.
- Nozzle: New (yes, another new design) "Unicorn" tri-metal nozzle for better performance than the K1 brass nozzles. They're also really quick to change.
- Extruder: All metal vs plastic materials used in the K1. This makes it more suitable for the more abrasive Carbon-fiber infused or glow-in-the-dark filaments.
- Vertical Artifact Refinement: An early complaint was that the K1's smaller Z-axis pulleys lead to more artifacting. They are larger now for finer control.
- Bed Brush: The included hot-bed coated build plate now features a rubber nozzle wiper (slightly reminiscent of Lulzbot nozzle-wiping).
- Camera: Now included as standard, for time-lapse and easy remote-monitoring.
- Spool Mounting: You want it on the side or rear? Your choice. With the K1, you had to 3D print an adapter for side-mounted spools.
- Rubber Feet: No more separate rubber shoes - these are now screwed to the bottom - no more losing a shoe when you move your printer!
- Front Door: It's mounted with a bit more flexibility in mind, but STILL is susceptible to shattering if swung open too fast/far. Consider a 270° 3D printed hinge upgrade.
All the other features are common between them - size/speed/firmware/screen... it still very much feels like a regular K1 printer. This is a nice change of pace from Creality's regular "Let's totally change up the menu system again" design philosophy.
And with a lightweight direct-drive extruder/hotend, it can accelerate at an impressive 20m/s² - that's twice as fast as the acceleration due to gravity! That means it can quickly get up to speed, then slow down again during a print, which is part of the reason it can print so fast.
Part of the magic of the K1C is the software-to-hardware calibration. When calibrating, the system actually shakes the printer and measures how it responds, then the software incorporates these responses into the printing process so it best knows how to speed up and slow down the hotend for the best results.

Features:
- Ships practically fully assembled – remove a few shipping screws, run the automatic self-test and calibration routine, and you're ready to print.
- Direct drive extruder rated to 300°C, capable of 32mm3/s of filament flow. That's almost a full cubic centimeter of plastic every 3 seconds!
- Automatic bed leveling uses strain gauges for an accurate and consistent first layer.
- Monitor print progress locally using the built in web interface or from anywhere using the Creality Cloud application.
- CoreXY mechanical movement system driven by the CrealityOS (which is a fork of the ground-breaking Klipper firmware) allows for fast prints without sacrificing quality.
- Fully enclosed metal frame makes ABS and other hard to print materials possible (and useful for those owning cats!).
- Dual part cooling fans – one on the hotend and another monstrous auxiliary part-cooling fan mounted inside the case.
- Exhaust port Charcoal filter tray for fume mitigation.
- Light bar for illuminating your print progress.
- Load files over Wi-Fi or via USB thumb stick – no more fiddly micro SD cards!
- Removable complete top cover for thermal control and easy maintenance access.
- Removable PEI powder-coated spring-steel build platform.
