Solarbotics has supplied some tech bits and pieces for the recent ART HACK II, an intensive artistic boot camp led by Visiting Artist, Raul Nieves (Blablablab, Practipo Barcelona), where students were building open source the 3D printers.
Ok folks, here it is. Your weekly dose of links. Enjoy it. Love it. Let it soak into your skin. Bask in its magnificence.
Bravit, The Multi-flame Candle This link comes to you straight out of 2008, but it's still pretty awesome. This is a candle that has a wick that branches out to create multiple flames. Apparently it was inspired by the molecular structure of cholesterol. Because, you know, cholesterol is pretty neat or something. |

Video Based Car Radar Not quite robotics, nor embedded systems, not even Arduino. But DANG - coding your own video-based radar system with machine learning? Very cool. |

Custom and Studio Furniture Everyone likes furniture, right? This gallery shows of some mighty fine craftsmanship, but at the bottom is a keyboard that features very green glass keys. Too bad there isn't much further information. |

Embracing Power Cables More home decor! This is a neat idea to use your power cables as decorative elements, fixing them to your wall in impressive patterns. |

Brecce Collection dal Fuorisalone Milano 2012 MORE DECOR! This is the last one, promise. This designer has taken pieces of wood scraps and uses LEDs to turn them into subdued lamps. |
For some reason, we seem to have leaned towards an unhealthy amount of home furnishing/decorating. During that infinite time we had plenty of opportunities to pick the interesting stuff floating around internets, and bring it to you: Headphone Light Show EL (electroluminescent) wire is a cool thing. Add it to the headphones and […]
Thinking of coming to the Western Canadian Robot Games this year? Although the games don't have any BEAM events this year, we're still planning on being there to meet up with our customers (and enter a few 'bots in competition!). As usual, we're planning at also having our free annual post-event BBQ, so if you'll […]
The Turbot is a member of the Scophthalmidae family of flatfish and is almost completely circular. Turbot is often found partially buried in the seabed in sand, gravel, rocks and sediment. Its fat content varies, but it usually contains roughly 1 gram of omega-3 fatty acids per 100g fillet. Barring advances in genetic engineering, we will not be building that kind of Turbot. However, this kind of Turbot can be built with a soldering iron.
