120 LEDs per meter that's ludicrous, shenanigans, positively... bright! This LED strip closely resembles the natural or soft fluorescent bulbs on the market. With most LEDs strips you'll get a fairly focused area of light dispersion, not the case with this strip as it emits an nice glow.
These LED strips contain 120 white LEDs per meter. The strips have mounting screws and tabs that you can use to mount the strip to cabinets, enclosures or the dash in your car (probably not recommended). They include current limiting resistors, so just add 12 volts and you're good to go. We've tested this strip over 12V and while they do draw a bit more current and get a little hotter they do okay. So using around 15VDC is fine but try not to get up around the 20VDC mark as the LED strip itself starts to twist and contort.
Oh, and did we mention they are waterproof? They are IP67 rated which means they can handle going under water (but try not to place the ends in as well, as they are much less waterproof). Officially the IP67 rating is described as the following: Protected against the effect of immersion between 15cm and 1m.
Here are our the results of the tests we did with this strip with a Phidgets precision light sensor (distance of 10" away, ambient lux: 46) to measure lux and a variable power supply to measure current as the voltage was varied:
Please Note: We don't recommend going higher than 15V with these strips as the current draw is pretty high and we don't offer a power supply that can deliver more than 5Amps at these voltages.
They come in 5 meter reels and are sold by the meter! If you buy 5m at a time, you'll get full reels. If you buy less than 5m, you'll get a single strip, but it will be a cut piece from a reel which may or may not have a connector on it.
