This is a colourful temperature gauge that reads out temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit (user selectable). The temperature is displayed both in a digital readout and an analog bar graph.

Description [Hide]

This affordable temperature display includes a temp probe and convenient switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit with the blue button. It quickly hooks up to +5V and GND from an ATX power supply Molex connector. You can always hack in your own +5V and GND by splicing into the red and black wires and soldering them to your own supply such as a USB breakout, SLVR-1, 5 Volt Switching regulator, or just a 5V regulator on it's own. We did a few tests and found that this LCD can operate at voltages as low as 2.7V but the backlight is very dim, if you changed the backlight resistor to a lower value you could probably run this display off a couple 'AAA' batteries or a small LiPo!

 Specifications:

  • Snap-in Black plastic Enclosure
  • Dimensions: 48(mm) X 28(mm), Thickness: 17(mm)
  • Powered by PC ATX power supply with a 4-pin molex connector (only +5V and GND used)
  • Temp Range:  0°C to 70°C, 32°F to 176°F
  • Accuracy: +/- 1 °C, +/- 1.8°F
  • Cable length: 0.4m
  • Length of temp probe: 0.6m
  • Waterproof temp probe
  • Blue button at the back to switch between °C and °F.
  • Low current consumption Approx: 22mA
  • LCD still operates at voltages as low as 2.7V (though backlight is very dim at lower voltages)
