With improvements from the previous version such as a new processor with increased speed, code storage, & UARTs it's not hard to see why the Netduino 2 is a welcome upgrade! Use the Netduino's 22 GPIOs with SPI, I2C, 4 UARTs (1 RTS/CTS), 6 PWM and 6 ADC channels to interface with switches, sensors, LEDs, serial devices, and more. Enjoy event-based programming, multi-threading, line-by-line debugging, breakpoints and more with .NET Micro Framework which combines the ease of high-level coding with the features of microcontrollers. This board is also very expandable with 3rd-party accessories that offer pre-built functionality like GPS location, servo control and battery power. The Netduino is pin compatible with Arduino shields too but please keep in mind that drivers are required for some Arduino shields.

Hardware design files for the Netduino are open source as well as the source code! Learn from the designs, remix them, and enjoy the freedom!
