Description

The XBee module is an amazing little device. Robust wireless communication, long range, hard-to-use pin spacing (Wait…what?). Well, it’s true! Fortunately, the SparkFun XBee Explorer Regulated makes the XBee module so much nicer to use, by managing the  3.3V power regulation, signal conditioning, and adds LED activity indicators (for power, RSSI and DIN/DOUT). It also level-shifts 5V signals to match the 3.3V the XBee expects!

The board was conveniently designed to mate directly with Arduino Pro boards and with the FTDI Basic boards for wireless bootloading (yaaay SparkFun!) and USB based configuration.

This unit works with all XBee modules including the Series 1 and Series 2.5, standard and Pro versions. Plug an XBee into this breakout and you will have direct access to the serial and programming pins on the XBee unit and will be able to power the XBee with 5V.

Note – you only get the adapter board itself – no XBee module is included (sold separately!)
