Convert your sound files to .AD4 and store them on an microSD card for instant audio playback. Either use a simple button control or two wire serial communication from a microcontroller to activate the sound files & play them through a speaker. This audio player is super small too!
Use the WTV020SD to play recorded audio files for a custom voice for a robot, use it as a tiny music player, or combine it with a PIR sensor for a sound trap to scare away unwanted critters, or just frighten your neighbours. This module has a small, simple IC for embedding audio-playback into your next project. It even has the ability to activate 512 unique sound files!
Simply load your audio files onto a micro-SD card and plug it in, power up the module and trigger the playback. The audio compression used in this module is a little strange (4-bit ADPCM @ 6-36kHz) so you'll need to download the utility under the documentation tab in order to convert your .WAV files into the 4-bit ADPCM format required.
Playback can be triggered in either key or serial mode:
The key-mode provides a stand alone operation where a host micro is not required. With only 3 push buttons, a 3V battery and a speaker, an extremely compact and low component count MP3 Player-like system can be implemented.
The serial-mode provides a simple, 2-wire interface to any microcontroller via its DATA and CLK lines. Audio operations such as PLAY, PAUSE, STOP and VOLUME control functions are all available to the host micro via simple serial commands.
Need a 3.5mm audio jack to interface some amplified speakers, we have those connectors too!
