Basically a USB to WiFi interface, this breakout board offers an xbee style footprint that allows serial communication from an RN-XV module to your PC or Laptop.
The RN-XV-EK1 is an evaluation kit for the RN-XV style modules. The board connects to a PC via a mini-B USB cable (included in the kit), and provides 2 pushbutton switches to control WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) mode and to reset the module. The board has connectors to drop in a RN-XV module, as well as headers that allow wires access to all the signals.
Based on a xbee standard footprint often found in embedded applications, the RN-XV series is an 802.11 b/g solution for designers who want to migrate their existing 802.15.4 architecture to a more standard TCP/IP-based platform without redesigning their existing hardware.
